ABC Wednesday--Q

Visit Mrs. Nesbitt for
more information on
ABC Wednesday and
for the list of participants.

There are not a lot of Qs in the forest or meadows so this ABC Wednesday was not easy. This is Queen's Cup. The picture was taken in early June in the Old Growth Forest at Ohanapecosh.
~
So, a follow-up from a question I had when I posted O for Ohanapecosh and the old growth forest. My question to myself was where in the world do I have a picture of a nurse log, which I was trying to describe at that time? Nurse logs are common in the old growth forest when a downed tree decomposes and provides the nutrient rich environment of more plants to grow.
~
Hiking the other day, we found this one, which has mosses and ferns growing from it and still clearly maintains its character as a log. I will continue to keep an eye out for good photo opportunites to get a good picture of a nurse log with even more plants growing from it--even trees.

I'm probably first to comment since I noticed you made a typo in your mr linky on mrs nesbitts - it was just two letters transposed and I altered it in my browser address bar.
I usually try to avoid this kind of error by copy/pasting the address in.

all the best

A nice, wild flower. The wild ones are often the most stimulating to watch.

PS The link to your page in Mr. Linky seems to be broken.

I love your ABC posts that they follow a theme. This Q post would have given you quite a challenge - but you met it and survived! Pretty little flower.

Thank yo for all your visits and comments at mine. You are right with your advice too - I think sometimes I try TOO hard...
