ABC Wednesday details, a list of
participants, and a place to sign up.
R is for Mt. Rainier National Park
If you hadn't noticed that I love this place, well, then you are definitely a new visitor to my blog.
~
R is for this rainbow we saw one spring over Stevens Canyon. The road from Ohanepecosh to Paradise goes through Stevens Canyon. That bit to the left is known as Backbone Ridge.
R is for Park Rangers, represented here by a ranger's badge of office. I have a great respect for these wonderful men and women who bring such a variety of talents to work in the parks. They work to protect the park and to insure that its visitors have an outstanding experience of all its wonders. Their responsibilities range from administration to interpretation to education to law enforcement.
And then, of course, there's Mount Ranier iteslf.

I love your outdoor orientation and your photos. It is also one reason I like riding a bike on a rail-trail; nature is so close.
Gary
Katney, I can see why you love the place, the scenery is stunning. I imagine it is one of those places that you leave fealing refreshed. Cape St Francis has that effect on us.
beautiful rainbow
Will you visit mine Thanks
I love rainbows, they are too elusive to capture - never know when I would see one again.
A great place to be, i guess.
The rainbow photo is BEAUTIFUL! :)
My R
I'd never have guessed you're fond of that place! Beautiful photos of a perfect subject.
Love the virtual r tour.
Good choices for 'R' - yet again I never thought of Rainbow - and I use one such shot as a kind of avatar - as I do with the ones I chose.
Magnificent scenery.
This reminds me lot - our Norway and also being in Portland, unhappily we had no time to drive around even we our rental car carried Washington state number (taken from Seattle airport).
Looks like a wonderful place to be, Katney!
As usual great post and lovely pics.
Its just a never ending provider of excellent walks and photos ...thanks for sharing it!

Great photos and choices !
French children know the word "ranger" ...by the way of "Power Rangers !
I love the rainbow
Miss Yves
Great R-choices. Beautiful nature photos.
Somehow I knew Mt. Rainier would be your focus. Thus, I left out any snow photos I had taken of it and focused on a few other R things. Ü Great photos as usual!
Awsome R's. I've been to Mt Rainier but it was so foggy you couldn't see anything.
Lovely shots! I'm hoping to see some of these things for myself in the next year or so. My grandson (U.S. Army) has just been assigned to Ft. Lewis, WA. I plan to visit him while he's stationed there as I've never before traveled to Washington state.
Beautiful rainbow over the mountain.
Such beautiful country--and a rainbow to boot! Thanks for sharing one of your favorite places.
A beautiful place. And how clever to capture the rainbow.
Now, could you get the email with the voucher up on your screen and then take a photo of it then upload the photo and just - print it off ... oh bother.
I can understand why you love the mountains. Such majesty!
The rainbow is gorgeous!!
You're right, it is gorgeous. That rainbow? Wow! Outstanding!
What a fantastic place Katney!
Perfect choice for R! That glorious mountain and park! I get to be in Washington state the weekend after Memorial Day Weekend. Yippee. Have a wonderful weekend. Are you going on a hike?
:0)
"Louis" likes the Rainbow in paRticulaR!
PeRfect choices for "R" Wednesday!
Wonderful R post... thanks for sharing. I was in Washington MANY years ago when I was a girl
Beautiful Katney - I see why you love the place.
BTW - some of my friends and I are in the process of signing up for next year's Moonwalk in London next year. Not as impressive as your 3 days, but it means I'm also in training - 51 weeks to go, 10 miles done this week :)
