ABC Wednesday--M

for more about
ABC Wednesday.

M is for magenta paintbrush-- one of three varieties I know of in the park.
M is also for marsh marigold.
M is for marmot.

The Moraine Trail has many lovely views. We can see this unnamed green lake from the Rim Trail, too. It is so green because of the reflection of light off of the glacial flour--a sediment of particles ground formed by the grinding action of the Emmons Glacier, which feeds the White River and whose waters also feed this lake. A Moraine is a landform created by the receding glacier.
And of course, M is for Mount Rainier.

Beautiful M shots, KK. ThanX for commenting on my playground shot. Do keep me posted if you decide to go ahead with a location themed meme. It sounds like fun!

Your Mt. Rainier reminds me of Mt. Baker that I can see on a clear day from my place.

Love your M's! Those marmot's are so stinkin cute. I remember the first time I saw one sticking it's head up in the Olympics. I have to admit I'm kind of scared of them, though. The majestic Mt. Rainier another great choice for M.
Have a great week. I hope the sun peaks out a lot up there...
