There is nothing quite like a
glass elevator.
For years I couldn't handle being in a glass elevator. I would stay at the back--even close my eyes. I have discovered that I am much bolder. I had no problem being in the glass elevator on the Space Needle. It goes up approximately 510 feet in ten seconds.
Despite the fact that the glass elevator at the Museum of Flight only goes a couple of floors, it has a great view.
I think maybe the most fun glass elevator was the one on the Norwegian Star last summer. You could look out into the main lounge (I forget the name of it.) and see what all was going on on shipboard. Of course, this picture is looking in from the lounge.

Interesting and unique glass elevators, all three. Check out those heavy rain clouds over the water in the Space Needle shot. You captured some great memories of fun eXcursions.
The first glass elevator I was in was at Peachtree Center in Atlanta. Love them!
Those are awesome glass!
Really great for this week's theme!
Glass elevators was a great idea for the theme. They are an unusual ride but I've always liked them.
Great layout and view!
I think the third shot is best shot, I can see the reflections and lights
thanks for visiting our photohunt
Cool shots. Although re glass elevators - when one has fear of heights, some of these contraptions are better avoided ;-)
Have a great weekend.
Perfect! I love all three of them, Katney. I was just looking for the link to your blog when you posted a comment on mine! Hope you have a delightful weekend!
Ah, yes, Snoopy the Goon. That is why, since childhood, I have hovered int he back of the elevator with my eyes closed, hung back from the precipice at canyons, and heaven help me, avoided balconies altogether. I have missed a few things that way. Somehow, it no longer affects me quite so strongly. I have done nothing in particular to conquer this fear, either.
I don't know that I would stand in the very front of the one at the Space Needle on a windy day, though.
glass elevators are cool. but being someone who has phobia in heights, i find it hard to look down.
Never met a glass elevator. Looks like I'm missing a treat - but I've no idea how I'd take to the trip!
I love your shots.
Interesting! I took a glass elevator at Burj Al Arab Dubai and I was so dizzy afterwards. While the view is nice, the elevator is really fast and made me dizzy.
Now this is an original take on the glass theme. I enjoyed it and I too am afraid of heights but can go in a glass elevator. Have a great weekend.
Love the reflection in the last one!!
I'm not too keen on those glass elevators myself. I htink you are braver than I am! Great shots!
Those are great, I love glass elevators. Took my kids up one in the SLC library.
Nice take on this week's theme. Sadly I'm not keen on elevators (a bit hard as I work on the top floor of an office block!) Happy weekend
there is one around Niagara Falls somewhere and OMG what a nightmare. But by closing eyes and leaning against a solid wall, i did it. But that Space Needle elevator? I'd' need drugs to do that! Great photos.
Love glass elevators. We've got a few over in Hong Kong but they're normally so crowded and I'm too busy enjoying the views to whip out a camera and take a photo! ;b
These are great photos! That's probably about the closest I've ever been to a plane~I've never been on a plane! Thanks for visiting my blog & commenting :)
I haven't been up in the Space Needle for a few years, but my fear of heights did make it an experience of fear more than beauty. I like the glass from your point of view!
Yikes - I hate heights so always try to avoid glass lifts. Kudos to you for some great shots for this week's theme.
Makes one wonder why it took so long to make elevators part of the attraction and let us see the scenery instead of the backs of heads. Isn't funny how everyone gets so quiet on an elevator?
Very nice take on the theme!
I have been there to the Air Museum, dont remember the glass elevator, maybe I used the stairs.
It is sveral years since I was there and expansion plans were talked about but dont know if it happenned.
Outside they have a retired Airforce One that former presidents used.
Your post the other day about the orchards. We have orchards here and the frost fans are the preferred method for keeping the frost off the blossom, No sign of fruit bloosom here yet, its a cooler spring this year. Apricot blossom is first.
As a child i was petrified of these....but I did make an exception when Santa was on the 6th floor in the appartment store.
Now I don't especially like heights, but I don't mind glass elevators. Go figure. Nice entry for the theme.
Oh I've been up there around 1998. IT's so beautiful, great choice!
Very interesting, great shot...Love it all. Thanks for sharing...
Mine is up

A Little Bit Of Everything
I remember those snoopy glasses. I think we still have a few McDonald's anniversary ones around too. Thanks for the idea, but that's what I've been using and for some reason blogger is failing to post them. A couple of them I needed to post so people could access some recipes and blogger won't allow access while it's in draft form. SO I am aware of blogger in draft and am still trying to get it to cooperate with my domain.
I always feel rather strange in glass elevators and I do avoid them if I can. Good choice for glass.
Oh how daring! I wouldn't dare to go into a glass elevator. Great entry for the glass theme.
These are great for our glass theme this week. Love that third one with the lights.
Interesting and unique glass elevators, great shots for the theme. Well done Katney!
