Photo Hunt--Theme: Twisted

For more about Photo Hunt and to find more Twisted posts, visit TnChick.

My hubby said that for a twisted photo I should look for one of the twisted trunks of the Bristlecone Pines we saw when we hiked at Great Basin National Park.

But I thought I would look for some twisted ropes on board the ship when we cruised to Alaska last summer. (A couple of comments have mentioned ferries. This was not a ferry but a cruise ship, as were the ones visible in the distance in a couple of the shots. We were aboard the Norwegian Star, and would recommend it to anyone.)

The Bristlecone is quite something, but you were right to go for the ropes. Particularly that last shot.

Wonderful selections! I love the tree!

Beautiful Bristlecone - wonder how old that one is.
We had ropes galore when we had the boat - but I never thought of using that image for the theme. Silly me.

Great shots Katney - and that tree is truly awesome!

I'm sorry you seem to be barred from commenting on my photoblog :( Maybe it would help to clear your cache and start visiting my blog "afresh"? I'm really at a loss about that one...

Wish you a happy weekend! :)

I like both your husband's and your take on the twisted theme. I have always liked twisted trees. They remind me of October and Halloween. Happy Photo Hunt! Mine's up too.

Those are both great shots for the theme. Also, wonderful that you got to hike in the Great Basin National Park and go on a cruise to Alaska. I want to go to Alaska one day.

Neat photos! How do you find everything? You keep them on CD's labeled and just have a great memory?

Trying to catch up on my blog hopping. . . .

I sure like the twisted ropes on the cruise ship. Its really amazing that things that we don't really pay attention look quite artistic when we do look at them ;) Great pics...
Wow, u've been to alaska?? We wanted to go on may but not a good time since we would not be able to see any northern lights...

Pearl - have a good weekend!

Harrumph, I say to the "ferry" comments -- just take a look at the twisted rope in your photo. I've travelled our BC ferries many, many times and don't ever recollect seeing a rope that size LOL. Glad you enjoyed your Alaska cruise. Did you depart via Seattle or Vancouver, BC?
BTW, thanks for stopping by my blog this week.

Seattle to Skagway, Larry. Our B.C, port of call was Prince Rupert. I've not been on the big ferries, just the Seattle area ones--which are big enough, but not like those that go on up the coast.

These are great twisted shots, Katney. I enjoyed your response to my library post yesterday. Some of the titles you mentioned are new to me. I appreciate your recommendations. I've put them on my wishlist for neXt week ~ thanX!

Hey Katney, in response to your comment on my twisted piX: These are close-up shots of playground equipment. Think fireman's pole, but corkscrew design for a twirly descent. Does that help? I noticed that e-Mom took a very similar shot, but hers is blue and shows a better view of the whole apparatus.
