This photo was taken while on a small boat cruise of Lake Periyar in the Periyar Tiger Preserve National Park in Kerala, India. And no, we never did see any tigers. They apparently don't hang out near the lake, and fortunately they don't hang out near the hotel like the monkeys do. We did see wild boar, lots of cormorants and other birds.
But what else would you find in a national park in India?
Elephants, of course. No, this elephant was not at the national park, but at Kodiacanal Park in the hills of Tamil Nadu. It was quite a bit easier to get a picture of, as was this elephant slide at another park near a dam in Tamil Nadu. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the dam.
So did you see the elephants in the first picture? No? I didn't think so. But they are there. Those two dots on the top of the ridge.
Someday I will figure out how to get my video shots of these elephants, and of the temple elephant giving me a "blessing" off the 8mm tape and onto the computer. They are much better.

In the meantime, you will find many other Es by visiting the ABC Wednesday Linky site. And stop by to pay the ABC sponsor Denise a visit, too.
By the way, these photos are old files and will not enlarge any bigger with any clarity no matter what I do.

I can't quite make out the real elephants, but the shrubbery one and the elephant slide make great photos and e words. A trip to India must have been a thrill. What an adventure!
What fun, unique elephants.
Real and non real so much fun. I love elephants such gentle creatures for ones so large.
I fell for the "wooden one", but I'm afraid I'm not gardener enough to keep it up.
How exciting to see elephants in their natural habitat! The topiaries must have taken quite a bit of work.
I have seen these photos before. Didn't you post them last year? I don't know how else I could have seen them before today. I even remember the elephants that are on the horizon that you can't really see.
I do love that elephant slide. I'll bet the kids give it a workout. Thanks for pointing out the elephants. I couldn't find them before.
I spotted them!
Yes, PERBS, I posted the first two as camera critters way back. You have a good memory.
Elephants are a good thing - the photos are wonderful! Glad you pointed out those which were on the hilltop as I'd have never found them!
Love the elephant slide!
