Sunday's Psalm--23rd Sunday of Ordinary Time

R. If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.

Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD;
let us acclaim the rock of our salvation.

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us joyfully sing psalms to Him.

If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.

Come, let us bow down in worship;
let us kneel before the LORD who made us.

For he is our God,
and we are the people he shepherds, the flock he guides.

If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.

Oh that today you would hear his voice:
"Harden not your hearts as at Meribah,
as in the day of Massah in the desert,

Where your fathers tempted me;
they tested me through they had seen my works"

If today you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.
Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7, 8-9

Meribah and Massah are both names which refer to the fountain which sprang forth when Moses struck the rock in the desert in Exodus 17:1-7.

The perfect post for Sunday. Each shot is beautiful and goes nicely with the words. BJ

Absolutely spot on Katney.
Now that I have a "blogroll" thingumajig, I hope I never miss your Sunday again.

I love the psalm, and also the shots you choose, especially the Nevada sky and that last one - which is very poignant with someone sleeping rough in the background. A reminder that God loves us all, no matter who we are or where we are from.

Love all the photo illustrations for this psalm but especially the bird on the rock and the sheep in the field.

It is always a blessing to stop here on Sunday for the Psalm you post. "Louis" has the tune for the Psalm tone in his head - as soon as he saw the "If today you hear his voice, harden not your heart," "Louis" began intoning the Psalm tone...

Yesterday, when I was stretched out in front of the television feeling sorry for myself, I watched Songs of Praise and it was an edition all based on psalms. It made me want to re-read some.
