Fall into Reading Challenge 2008

seems to be a really good idea from Katrina at Callapidder Days where you can find the details of the challenge and a Mr. Linky to sign up. The general idea is to make a list of books you plan to read this Fall and at the end of Fall share your experience. Easy, right?
~
I am starting my list now (This was written almost two weeks before it posts--to make sure I actually do it.) though I will likely change it some when I get a chance to get back to the library or the bookstore--or even sift through the shelves here at home.
~
Non-fiction--not always my favorite
Finish The Last Child in the Woods--by Richard Louv
Finish the Arizona Highways book on photography--I forget the exact title and forget where it is but I will find it.
The Back Roads from Arizona Highways--not to read in its entirety but to plan with.
Utah's National Parks --by Rod Adkison--do you see where we are going here?
No Salvation Outside the Poor by Jon Sobrino--This will be the springboard for a discussion at Sr. Julie's blog on Blog Action Day October 15.
~

Juvenile Fiction--It matters not that I am no longer active as a school librarian, I have grandchildren to advise and share with.
Peter and the Secret of Rundoon--by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson

Jenny Nimmo's new series (got the first one on CD at the library)
~

Adult non-mystery Fiction
The Fiery Cross--part of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
These are quite a departure for me, as I usually read mostly mystery.

Bad Girls of the Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs -- just invited to join a book club and this is the October book.

Just added--9/25--Something from P.G. Wodehouse. Maybe I can find one I haven't read before--what a delight.

~

Mystery
Some of the Father Brown stories by G. K. Chesterton
Go back to one of the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries by Dorothy Sayers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I didn't think I would be able to put together a list of any length at this point, but it looks like I have a plan. Of course, a trip to the library could very easily alter the plan very quickly when my eye catches something new and interesting looking.
Anymore I read in spurts. I hate to admit it but I haven't read a good book for quite awhile now. I have t get some overdue books back to the library. I, being a media specialist by degree and subbing and full time teaching also love children's books and have a huge collection even tho my grandchildren are old enough to not be interested in them anymore. I tend to like mysteries also. My favorite adult mystery writer is Diana Mott Davidson who has a culinary mystery theme and always includes the recipes.
Sounds like fun! I used to read a book every couple of days, but blogging has really cut into my reading! If you read one Peter Wimsey you will want to re-read the rest :-) We just listened to one on tape while we traveled.
Looks good, and good for you for having your list up so early! I've been thinking about reading the "Peter" books with my son, but we haven't gotten around to it yet.
Thanks for being part of the challenge!
