So what is odd about this picture?

I have a new camera, and our trip to Olympia last week was a testing run. I was trying out the macros setting and the super macro and the 20 power zoom. It was fascinating to see how close in I could get to things with that zoom. I was testing flash and no flash. Automatic and manual settings. And I was trying to make heads and tales of the owner's manual. And you know very well that I am inclined to take pictures of odd things or odd pictures of things anyway.
You know how it is when you are away from home and you just might do something in public that you might not in your own back yard? Not something naughty--just something a bit out of character (as if my taking a picture of a ketchup bottle would be out of character.) Because, after all, you will never see these people again, right?
~
So we stopped for lunch and I was taking pictures of my Diet Pepsi bubbles, and my straw wrapper, and the scene out the window, and the fork. I laid my camera aside while we relished some really good fish and chips. As we finished and waited for the check, I turned on the camera again, having spotted the reflection of the ketchup bottle and wondering how well I could capture it.
~
So here I am, about 125 miles from home, focusing my mind and my lens on the bottle before me and I hear this familiar voice from home: "So, katney, do you always take pictures of ketchup bottles?"
~
What can I say? It was an Andy Warhol moment!

Odd Shots is hosted here every Monday. I've made another new logo. You are welcome to use any of those that are available when you post an Odd Shot of your own. Please link back here in your Odd Shot post. Sign the Mr. Linky, but leave a comment as well, since Mr. Linky sometimes disappears on me and is disabled when the new Odd Shot is posted the following week. I will be discontinuing the Odd Shot Blogroll in the sidebar, as the Mr. Linky is the best indicator of who has played this week.

I have been called Babooshka on the street, my adopted blog name. The world does get smaller when you blog.
That sauce bottle just reminds me of breakfast in the UK and fish and chips.

I have heard about the "ketchup-effect". Now we have the combined "Ketchup and Andy Warhol" effect. That should lead to more great moments in the future.

BTW - has the pollen season started in your area? The word verification is "achoo". That ought to qualify as an Odd Shot by itself.

Now I know what you meant in a comment you wrote to me about catsup bottle. lol I am not signing up for linky because it never works right deleting my name some weeks but I have an odd shot anyway without playing. I hope you will click on it if you visit because it is so much better when enlarged.

I am so jealous of your 20 zoom. I loved my 10 zoom and now I only have5 and I get so sad that I couldn't afford the 20 when I got this new one. I wish my old camera could have worked forever.

Love the story behind the photo! Adore the unexpected odd shot! Always makes you look at the every day with a new lens! Great one!

I thought you were going to say the bottle was on a table a hundred feet away.
Something Odd though - it is not a plastic bottle.

Just the sort of thing I embarrass my family by doing in public! You could almost count on being seen by someone you know...
I love the reflection - but I don't think I'd ever wear those two colours together!

Thank goodness you were on your best behavior! What fun with a new camera. Reading the instructions is only prompted by necessity. Enjoy your new toy....

I know people think we photo types are nuts when they see us taking off pictures. I got this treatment when shooting frozen puddles in the parking lot!
I like the catsup picture. Good luck on the camera manual!

You were definitely caught red-handed, Katney, but Andy would be proud!

I love your story Katney. It sounds like something I would do! LOL It won't stop me from taking photos either. I get complaints from my guys all the time. I tell them when I become rich and famous from my photos, they wll have wished they had not said a word. LOL Mine is up now.
