I never...

I never saw a purple cow.
I never hope to see one.
But I can tell you anyhow,
That I have seen a pink one.

When we first saw her a couple of weeks ago we did not get a picture. We went back later in the day, but she was not visible in the pasture. Finally we got a chance on another trip down the highway.

Hubby heard about her on a late newscast later the first day. Apparently she had been given penicillin and had lost some hair. You know those warning labels on your antibiotics that tell you to limit your exposure to sunlight. Well, this cow didn't follow those warnings. She got a bad sunburn. The pink is fading some as her hair grows in.

Odd Shots don't have to be this odd. They might be an odd angle or a funny sign--anything hits that funny bone. Post your odd shot and link back here. If you see Mr. Linky (sometimes I don't, even though I am the one who put him there) leave your link. Leave a comment, too. The full details are linked in the sidebar, but this is it in a nutshell.

It made me laugh. Delicate hint of pink. Perhaps she delivers strawberry milkshakes!

I know the a cow's tongue is pink and most cows in Norway has a dull red colour - but I have never seen a sunburned, pink one!

Maybe we have too little sun??

Poor cow! This happened to some of the cows we used to care for - their skins just weren't used to a long spell of very sunny weather (this is Ireland, after all...)

How funny .. strawberry shakes?

I'm glad to hear it's just sunburn. I thought it might be some kind of skin disease.

Love Babooshka's comment about the strawberry milkshakes! :D

A pink cow! LOL At least it wasn't a pink elephant. If you had seen one of those, I would have thought you had one too many!

Poor dear ~ must have been very uncomfortable. Made for a great odd shot though, didn't it? ;-) The little diddy at the top produced a chuckle.

That's cute. They should read the instructions.. ;0/

There is a pink elephant in Africa just born too. An albino - very rare. Caught that on the news last week...

Very interesting. You know, there are many different skin tones among animals. Some are pinkish (like me) and others are darker skinned. I felt a need to share that, but I don't know why :-)
