Mt. Hood View--really

Here in lieu of twelve thousand words are twelve of the pictures that I tried to take last Wednesday. We were blessed once again with perfect weather. I caption these pictures with the words I used last week when I had no pictures.

...deep snow crisp on top with a soft underlayer

..face already getting a bit pink...

...sky as blue as blue...

...snow gleamed...

...touched only by deer or rabbits...

...tracks that look like a large bird...

...far side of the meadow...

...window... with a view...

We continued farther across the meadow, passing this stream which was flowing very slowly so that the forest behind could be reflected.
We kept going quite a ways, but we were not worried that we would get lost. Better than Hansel and Gretel's bread crumbs were our tracks, the only ones that were crisp and clear.
So, were you waiting for that "best view"?
Mt. Hood is about 70 miles away in Oregon. (Just over 100 km.)

A lot of melt and freeze has taken place in the four days since we last visited. This imprint of a set of pine needles is a couple of inches deep.

Enjoyed your snow photos and am soooooo jealous! I can see Mt Hood daily but that is a different view than the one I have.

I wrote in the Wednesday post about taking my Camp Fire group here. We also once went to a weekend activity put on by the Portland Council at one of their camps. We had a Sunday morning service at the camp fire ring there and the site looked out on a gorgeous view of Mt. Hood. But it was so different. It was a wonderful opportunity for a lesson on seeing another's point of view.
