When ABC Wednesday was on J, I took you to the Jackson Visitor Center at Paradise in Mt. Rainier National Park. The pictures I had for that post were all winter shots. We visited Paradise again last weekend, and here are some shots I took then.
The current visitors center reminds everyone of a flying saucer. The new visitor center below, which has been under construction for about two years and is scheduled to open this October, is a more sustainable design and blends in with the other historic buildings in the area.
Though smaller, the new visitor center promises great views as well through walls of windows on two sides.
I have also always loved the look of the chandeliers in the lower level.

Twofer Tuesday is supposed to be two photos or photos in pairs. I had to use two sets of three to come up even this time. Jonna is the Twofer sponsor. Visit her today, too.

I am amazed at how many wondrous places in our state that I still haven't visited. Your pictures make me feel like I am there.
Hi! These are great pictures. I love the park. The scenery is awesome. Flying into Sea-Tac is an expereince too because you get to fly between Mt. Rainier on one side of the plane and Mt. St. Helens on the other. Thanks for sharing the images!
Best wishes,
Skeeter
Had to laugh @ the chandaliers & your comment!
Laughed at the comment too! Type of thing my mum would have said! LOL!
That's a lovely looking place. The new centre looks more suitable to the scenery, but the old one obviously has great views. Love those chandeliers!
The view from the saucer must be quite marvellous. The light fittings, though interesting, seem a little out of place.
I remember your shots of this place in winter. How different it looks. Those chandeliers are very unusual. And VERY strange about the trash cans! lol
I picked up your tag on the UU - it's up now. :0)
Good Morning from Mississippi! Hope you have a great week. Keep up the good work here! Great Stuff!

Great photos again. You know you sure do live in a fantastic place. Thanks for sharing it with us through your camera.
Very nice post :)
Thank you for your comment on my blog!
Great series and a lovely looking place.
Thanks for playing!
I love the chandeliers, as well. The new center does look more appropriate, but the flying saucer leaves an impression.
Just beautiful! BTW, if there were no trash cans, you might be photographing litter so be thankful they are there and don't worry. If you hadn't pointed it out, I would not have looked for them because my focus was on the beauty you were trying to express.
