This is my son Chris's driveway in Spokane. Actually, it is about half of his driveway. There is just as much around the bend behind me. He had already been down it with his snow shovel this morning before I got out there with my camera.
He had also cleared most of the berm kicked up by the snowplows which had been by earlier. It was interesting to watch the snowplows there, as they travel in groups of three. Each one following closer to the edge of the road than the one before it. Spokane has already received more than a winter's normal snowfall--most of it in the last two weeks.

That bit at the bottom--he's giving it a bit of extra attention. That's where we got stuck when we arrived yesterday afternoon. It took us 45 minutes to dig ourselves out. It was pretty stressful, as we were really stuck and the rear end of the car was sticking out into the traffic lane. Quite a bit of snow had fallen after he had gone to work.
The kids helped, too, breaking up the ice to get down to bare pavement.

Incredible shots! I can scarcely believe the pile of snow either side of the driveway! And that icicle on the house is utterly awesome!
It's been a snowy winter! Great photos...
I don't know about you but I am already tired of winter!
It's cold and wet... hehe
Brrrr....
Take care!

I hope you get the head over the snow sooner or later.
Have Happy New Year when you do!
OMG ! that's a lot of snow ! I don't remember we had that many ever here in Belgium ! It's cold here for December (in the 20 F) but I haven't seen one snowflake yet !
Brrrr!
It looks very familiar, Katney! :-) Yes, we got about 4-5 inches more this morning. I drove out for coffee and found, as you did, the access turns to parking lots was just about all I could get through (two wheel drive, all season radials). I got the coffee and instead of staying to see the gang, head on back home and was relieved to get my car back home. Now it' thawing and sunny.
Thanks for dropping by my blog!
We are also getting our share of snow but not as much as Spokane, the mountains are getting lots of snow, avalanche danger is very high. 8 snowmobile riders were killed east of here.
I have just bought National Geographic Topo map software for Washington State, it looks very good on the screen and printed out with lots of detail, I am buying similar map software for Southern British Columbia. With my GPS unit, it will be great for the backroad driving and hiking that I do.
I think you all got more snow then we did, but we sure had our share this yr and now it can all stay away till next yr. Nice set of photos
I am glad you got yourselves out! I was amazed when I drove through Spokane yesterday how the side streets are just full of snow still. I can't imagine how the school buses are going to pick up kids tomorrow. Another storm tonight! I feel blessed that we have a neighbor that plows for us!
