Odd Shots: A Guest Photographer Today at Odd Shots HQ

You can find the Odd Shots Guidelines here or click the logo in the sidebar anytime.

Isn't it odd how different kinds of birds line up in their own special way? The spacing is always exact. Do they measure it?

My brother sent me this photo from his cruise to Catalina and Ensenada. I asked him if I could post it. He should have answered if the answer was no.
I know, I should have had a St. Patty's odd shot, but nothing came up. I bet we see some, though. Top of the Mornin' to Ya, anyway--for those who are Irish, and those who wish they were. (I've been told that on March 17 that's everyone.)

Having noticed the same thing, I have often checked seagulls (and pigeons on a wire) to see if they have a tape measure. :)

My odd shot is up but yours is odder :)

Your photo is almost surreal. Love it!

Beautiful scenery! Taken through a porthole? I once read that birds are as sensitive to their personal space as people are.

Nice shot. You're right - if he didn't say no he can't complain! And this way the whole world (?) gets to the the pic.

I know Katney. They do don't they? All lined up in a row & evenly spaced.
How Do they Do that?

Top of the morning .. happy st pat's and all that ... I think there's unwritten law about this .. birds of a feather must keep a wing span apart .. ;-O

My Odd Shot is up!

That is funny how birds are equal lengths away. I noticed that too when they are perched on telephone lines. Must be some sort of bird etiquette.

Space, the final frontier (even for birds)

Interesting shot from your brother. Tell him thanks!

Mine is finally up. Took over 16 hours to post for St. Patrick's Day parade and Monday Odd Shots. Ignore the typos in the original try if you should happen to scan down and read the other entry for today.. I still couldn't edit this one by adding the link and ODD ShOT photo at the top because it kept throwing me offline. I am so frustrated with Blogger.

It's like the birds need their two feet of personal space. ;)

That's a lovely photo and I've noticed that too about birds. Their instinct is incredible.

I prefer this shot to a Paddy's Day one anytime. ;0)

The shell is at Peterson's Rock Garden about 15 miles from us.

You're right about the spacing. And to think we belittle bird brains!!
