Skywalk

I have never understood the point of throwing your shoes over the wire.

Find other skywatchers here.

I haven't figured it out either but it does make a very interesting photo.
Happy Sky Watch Friday.

I always assumed it was someone throwing someone else's shoes over a wire. Which I never really understood, either. It's just extra mean. If it's one's own shoes, I'd say it's extra stupid!

I have heard, I don't know if it is true, that it means "here you can buy drugs".
I suspect some do it just to look tough.

Neither have I! That would have made a great odd shot too.

I've never been able to understand it either. Maybe just a bully thing. Meany. MB

On my walk last week, we saw a baseball hanging from a wire going over a street.

I've never understood it either..

I've heard that it means a number of things..

1.. Kids celebrating graduation from high school. (I'd be really annoyed if my kid threw his or her shoes over the powerlines as they aren't cheap !)

2.. You can buy drugs at a nearby house. (You'd think if this was true, then the drug squad would be staking the place out.)

3.. Gang members marking their territory. (I guess that's better than graffiti everywhere!)

4.. A mark of respect to someone who just died at a house nearby.(Huh? You throw their shoes or your shoes over the line?)

5 .. Kids being bullies. (I go with this explanation and the first one, personally.)

As someone else said, it makes for a great photo...I have some on my blog, somewhere :-)

Happy SWF and have a great weekend. :-)
