Why is it...?

The community of Forks, Washington had a population of 3,120 at the 2000 census. Currently 3600 bloggers on Blogger alone--no idea how many there might be on other platforms--claim Forks as their location. Most of them seem to be between the ages of 13 and early 20s.

Wishful thinking?

I didn't know this, but I imagine it's because of the popular teen vampire Twilight book and the associated movie. It was set in Forks.

Have you read the books? Not great lit, but they'll "suck" you right in, pun intended.

Where did you get this information? Not that I don't believe you -- just wondering how you can find out that stuff. I mean, half the time when I go soemwhee where they tell what place you come from, it says I am from Portland, OR. lol

The blogger feature where you click on the interests and such in someone's profile is working again. I had clicked Washington in my profile to browse to see if there were any other Washington blogs that might be interesting. As I went through, I noticed a lot said Forks, so I opened one of th profiles and clicked forks. I got the first however many of 3600 (like you do if you do a Google search). When I went back later there were only 2800, so that number is somewhat variable. Still an awful lot more than really live in the town itself.
