If you remember my Sky Watch last week, I showed the view from a couple of years ago, promising to show you what we would see the next day in the same place. So, here it is. When we arrived Friday morning at Sunrise Point, this was what we could see.
Mt. Rainier and all its surrounding peaks played hide and seek all day that day.
You can recognize the same peak to the south that was
visible over the valley fog in last week's shot.
On Saturday morning, it was clear. From Sunrise Point, you could see clear to Mt. Adams. Those are the same trees we saw in the fog from the day before.
There you can see it better now.
Watching the sky is always interesting at Mt. Rainier.

What spectacular views! I'm glad the fog wasn't all over so you could see so much.
It's hard to imagine more magnificent scenes. Even immersed in the mist, it's gorgeous.
Amazing photos! Nice work...thanks for sharing these-
Ah, how very gorgeous!
Great pics from Rainier. I always enjoy that area, no matter the weather.
After seeing these photos, I REALLY have Mt. Rainier on my "to do/to see" list!
Love the first photo....it's very northwest!
all I can say is ...what a awesome MT.. I drive to work down 405.. and see that MT.. and want to pull over and take it's picture!
Glad the fog cleared up and you got to see those beautiful mountains. It looks so pristine up there!
Very dramatic skies. It must have been some work to get up there!
Happy Friday.
What a view! The fact that the mountain plays hide and seek makes it that much more intriguing, doesn't it?
Wonderful! YOu are certainly right about how the sky out there changes from day to day, but when the clouds fall back....what a view!
I learned that between the two years I went camping with you. What a difference a clear day makes!
Simply divine photos of Mt. Rainier.

It looks like the mountain that is used in the Paramount films header. I've never noticed that before.
Oh, I love mountains. We have the White Mountains here in Northern New England, and that's where MY WIFE and I usually vacation in the fall. Lovely.
