On top of My World

Duting the summer, my world regularly includes the trails around Mt. Rainier. We were there Friday and Saturday, and on Saturday, after a moring hike up to Glacier Overlook , parked at Sunrise Point and hiked back to Sunrise.
The hike is about three miles.
I had forgotten how "uphill" the trail is from Sunrise Point as far as Dege (Deh ghee) Peak. That is about half the distance, and at each bend I would say "It levels off at that next clump of trees." Not really a problem, but we had already done about five miles that day. When we got to the spur trail to the top of Dege Peak, we did not join these folks up there.
Instead we continued on to the Visitor Center, where we picked up a prearranged ride back with the Law Enforcement Ranger Dan, who was planning to go out to the Point to do a quick litter patrol.
This is my world this Tuesday--well, last Saturday. Visit others here. I have some shots I am saving for SkyWatch Friday, so watch for those later in the week.

Impressive - and I can understand why you didn't join the ones on the top!

You're slowing down there, Katney! lol I expected to see you at the top BUT then, who would take the photo? Glad you are still enjoying your mountain!

We got rain today! I was so shocked . . . but then, we are having a picnic at church tonight to thank the outgoing Baords and welcome the incoming ones. . . Murphy's Law. sigh I hope people don't blame the rain on ME -- I jsut finished washing all the windows at church. sigh

Stunning scenery. Worth the uphill portions, even when you're tired.

What beautiful country. You got plenty high enough for some fantastic views.

Lovely photos, lovely scenery. I especially like the "hiker" with the poles.
