Men at Work

I think I am going to start a new series of posts--probably on Thursdays--most Thursdays but not all.

Men (and Women) at Work!

I have a few in my archives and will keep an eye out for others.

In this case, as I drove by this morning, this city worker was flushing the fire hydrants.

A companion series will be Volunteers in Action. I know I could probably go  a few months just on those.

But why do they waste the water like that? It could flush on to a lawn or something. . .

Interesting plans you have.

The nearest lawn is probably about six blocks away--no, maybe three. I think if there were a fire, I would be glad they had done the test on the pressure and flushed the lines so the firefighters would be sure of what they needed. I don't know how often they do it--maybe once or twice a year.

Hi Katney,
Don't you get irritated when you see those MEN at work signs?

In our area it's a sign of spring when they flush the lines.

I enjoy your photos.
