It's Geometry #3

Follow the lines.
The fence line and the line of the bridge.
Bridgemakers make efficient use of geometry. No matter the style of bridge, you will find triangles for strength, and lots of other lines and shapes as well.

Paulie had a neat bridge last week--also over the Columbia River but  hundreds of miles downstream from this one--a different style, but full of triangles and other shapes. We posted bridges one Monday a month for some time. If you are interested, click the Bridges between link in my lable cloud.

I find bridges fascinating. I am truly scared of them - at least the higher ones, as I have a fear of open heights - but I find them beautiful, too. Very nice shot of this one.

Vantage! I know it well! I often stop at this same overlook. I wonder if we've ever been there at the same time?

Hello
questo ponte è veramente molto " geometrico "... attraversarlo mi farebbe però, un pò paura !!!

Lew, what wold architects and bridge buildeers do without those arcs and angles?

Hameed, don't worry about when you comment, Even if you don't make a comment, I am glad you enjoy my posts.

Oh, Sully. You don't know the half of it. Have you ever gone sixty ro seventy miles out of your way to avoid crossing a bridge?

Quilly, I rarely go through this section of I-90. Because of where we live, we go to Spokane by way of the Tri-Cities and Hwy 395. I-90between Ritzville and Ellensburg is a virtual unknown for me.

®ø$åðìɱåggìø63 ღ, io mi ricordo la bellezza dei ponti lungo l'Arno e il Tevere.
