Odd indeed! There are a couple of events in DC that are similar: guys in high heels, waiters racing with drinks on a tray. My Odd Shot is up.

We used to run in a turkey trot in Bishop, I don't think anyone ever dressed up for it.Several times we have participated in the "Run to feed the Hungry" in Sacramento. They raise about $80,000 for local food banks with Thanksgiving Day event.
No odd shot for me but I loved both of yours!
