ABC E is for

E is for Eagle
Showing her good side, this eagle -Lady Baltimore--lost an eye in the wild. She is resident at Mt. Roberts in Juneau.  You don't have to go to Alaska to see eagles, but if you want to see a lot of them, it is a good place to start. The one above is a totem in Eagle Park in Ketchikan. These below were seen in the wild--and finally, where the eagles live.

That's a great head shot! We saw a lot of bald headed eagles when we were up in Alaska a good few years ago now. It was exciting then because they were just becoming plentiful again at that time.

Always loved the color combo of that eagle. But those piercing eyes made me glad I wasn't prey.

Sweet post. I was in Alaska about ten years ago...they were everywhere, like the pigeons in NYC. It was wild, and there really is a thrill seeing them. Have a great week.

Fabulous eagle! Just trying to catch up a bit. Daughter's computer is so slow there's no point trying to visit blogs but Mike's here at the moment with his laptop which is quicker so I'm grabbing a free moment. No baby yet! 12 days late now!

Love the photo of George too!

Hope you're both okay. x

The totem is more scary than the real thing. Beautiful birds.

Majestic birds, it is easy to understand why native people so often incorporated them in their art.

I saw Lady Baltimore last May when I took my daughter on an Alaska cruise. She's gorgeous!

What else from an "Open air" US Lady? :-)

PS Thank you for the comment. I saw your other comments on the Forums, and I'm glad you are giving them some real feed-back. I do remember the uproar from the last time they tried something like this :-)
Keep up the good work!

PPS I have put in a couple of comments there myself, but with an other alias.

What a great close up of the eagle. We see bald eagles here in Jan-Feb, but not the rest of the year. I guess they go farther north after that.
