Odd place to pitch a tent

I host Odd Shots here every Monday. Check out the details by clicking the Odd shots camera int he sidebar. Leave your link on Mr. Linky if you participate. Comments are welcome from anyone.

I don't think I would want to sleep in this tent. It seems an odd place to pitch it, and a ladder was needed to ascend. Hope no one needs to get up in the middle of the night.
It may not seem so odd to some, as we were told that they were quit popular in Australia. What do you think, Australian visitors. do you think it is odd?

I can't say that I have seen one in Australia but there are probably some here. I have seen the ones that are part of a small trailer. They open up and cover the trailer and reach to the ground. You actually sleep in the trailer off the ground, which is handy in snake and crocodile country. I prefer a cabin ,motel or hotel.

Oh wow, no way I'll stay in that tent too. Especially since I almost always have to get up in the middle of the night :D

Well, if it helps to keep away from snakes and crocodiles and there was no other alternatives to sleeping, then yep, I would sleep in it. =)

Do you think they were trying to get away from the bears? I've got my Odd Shot up this morning, too...

I think it may be a way to stay away from snakes crawling into the tent or bears knocking at the door.

We camp a lot and I have never seen a tent perched atop a vehicle before. It is certainly odd, but clever! Less dirt and damp from the ground, I suppose... Our piXies would think it was very fun (much like a treehouse).

I've got a whimsical smiley to share today.

First one I have seen. Odd to some may not be odd to others. . .

I am using the community room computer after getting knocked off each time I try to upload to blogger. So far, I have three posts ready -- the big test comes tomorrow to see if I learned how to load a photo to a PC from camera and then delete it on this community computer. One day when I get lots better, I will continue my camping saga.
