Photo Hunt--Emotions

Mixed Emotions

As much joy as we get from our visits to Mt. Rainier, it can also lead to sorrow, as it did this last weekend when a hiker lost his life in blizzard conditions. Even in June, it is necessary to be prepared for abrupt weather changes if you hike at high elevations.

Go to see TnChick for PhotoHunt.

Oh how sad. The mountains do bring mixed emotions and the harsh realities of life. There is a price tag on all that majestic beauty...

I love your shots of the mountains. Beautiful and mighty all at once.

(Thanks for your visits at mine. You've cheered me up - I'm much better now and not ranting quite so much!)

I read about that---and the sacrifice that man seemed to make for his wife and another. It did elicit emotions from em as well!

How sad! It's amazing how situations/emotions can change so quickly.

Just like the desert. Wonderful, awesome and deadly. We always need to remember that nature can be quite unforgiving.

That's so true. In the mountains the weather can change so quickly. Sadly, people get caught out.

How very sad to lose one's life when on that mountain -- BUT they probably loved it so much that I can't think of a more beautiful place to die if it does happen.

Beautifully expressed - and I liked your mushrooms shot in the ABC post too.

I agree with you. It is a shot full of mixed emotions. A mrs nesbitts says it's the same with the TT Races.

That is a beautiful picture but how sad the news!

I agree. Our mountains in the northwest can be beautiful and majestic, but also very dangerous.
