PhotoHunt--Theme: Delicious

This is our neighbor's hen.

The neighbor has a small flock of chickens--maybe as many as a dozen. You see them in the horse pasture, along the driveway, and occasionally along the edge of the road. Apparently the bugs are delicious there.

Except this one hen. She seems to think that our cat food is delicious.

She hangs out daily in our yard. When hubby goes out to feed the cats he tries to chase her out the gate. It doesn't last long. She comes back right away to enjoy her cat food feast. She scares the cats off until she is finished.

Someone told me about a friend whose neighbor's hen laid an egg on his porch every morning. This hen has not offered us such delicious payment for her cat food meal.

What do you think? coc a vin? maybe with dumplings? cacciatori? divan? Kiev? arroz con pollo?

Anyone have a delicious recipe?

An egg is most definately a fare swop for cat food, not sure the cat would agree though

Yes, Mark, it definitely would be. But she has not yet left us one in payment. And if she did, the cats would not be the ones to get it!!

So the saying goes, "One man's food is another man's poison." I'm not sure whether I want to eat anymore chicken.

Come over and enjoy a meal with me.

This post makes me miss our chicken that looked just like your delicious pictures. It is always fun to find another Washington blogger and another educator!

Haha, I suppose a full grown chicken is a bit more than a cat could take on, otherwise I would have thought the cats would find her delicious before anyone else did! Happy weekend

Lol, the hen might want to be adopted in your house. And it could be a cat afterall. :D

I think there are a lot of ways to skin this hen. Stealing cat's food is a mortal sin, methinks.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
