Fighting the Wind

This gull had a rough time getting anywhere   against the wind at Maryhill State Park along the Columbia River.
The choppy river shows how windy it was.

We shouldn't have been surprised. We once had a pie blow away while picnicking along the Columbia.

That's why all those pretty Sailboards are out there in the Gorge! We grew up in Clarkston Wash, moved to Eugene...must have traveled that gorge 7 million times visiting our parents ..... really saw Hood River change as windsurfing came in. It's such a beautiful area! But I definitely believe the pie story!!!
