These were along the trails near McKinley Princess Lodge. They had a visitor.
There were a huge variety on the trails near Skagway.
A size reference.
We found these in the Juneau area.
We were told that these were Coral Mushrooms. They are not like coral mushrooms we have seen before.

Wow! I had mushrooms on my blog yesterday! How neat they all are, I could not believe the size when you put your foot next to it! Alaska is some kind of growin' place! Kerrie
ReplyDeleteNeat to look at and I will pass on eating them.
ReplyDeleteThey are great to look at, but I will refrain from eating them. Even the ones that are supposedly okay.
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots of such a variety of mushrooms -- I don't care to eat them, but they're fun to look a! And a fun post for the M day!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Sylvia
Excellent pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing variety of mushrooms you found. All the different colors and sizes almost boggles the mind.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about mushrooms that make me want to look at them. You realy did a great job of capturing them.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed at the size of several of these mushrooms. When I was a child, our family went out to gather mushrooms. I didn't recognize some of these! Beautiful, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteWhat variety, we don't see so many in the Sierra. Your College Fjord shots are stunning.
ReplyDeleteAn impressive collection - did you eat many of them?
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting variety! I've never seen those little coral ones.
ReplyDeleteMushrooms are always so sweet to look at, like a portal to a magickal world. So beautiful all these photos!
ReplyDeleteKisses from Nydia.
What wonderful images and a mesmerising variety of mushrooms. I especially liked your first photograph, it looked like a fairy kingdom.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures, but I have absolutely no capacity to ascertain which are delicious and which are fatal.
ReplyDeleteI only eat those I buy at the supermarket.
ReplyDeleteOur mushroom afficionado friend tells us that we are really missing something, that when they chose which variety of mushrooms to raise for supermarket sales, they chose from the ones with the mildest flavor.
That's okay with me. (You should see her lunch in September. -- no, you should smell it.)
