Stop by and visit

I invite you to stop by and visit my latest blog, 365-no-themes-no-memes. It's been going for a little over a month. Just pictures in larger format--the best that strike my fancy each day. There's a link in the sidebar, too.

Looks great, Katney! Love the detail in those large format piX. Care to share how you tweaked your blogger template?

How can the date be June 20th?Ok so what template did you use? Your photos are wonderful. I sure would have liked to put my colorful Iris on a page like that. Neeed information, please. Ü

Here are the secrets to a couple of things:

First of all, Paulie, the June 20 date was just a date in the future far enough to give plenty of people time enough to find no themes no memes. It's the same method I did for my "sticky note" about being in class. Make your post. Publish it. Then change the date. It will stay on top till that date and then be passed by by newer posts.

If you change the date BEFORE publishing, it will not post until that date.

2. So, Paulie and DiXi, the next step: The wide format photos require a wide format template. The one I chose was "Simple 2" but there may be others without sidebars. If you try to do wide photos in a template with columns they get chopped off--or possibly worse.

Size the photo to about 800 pixels wide. That is the size of most monitors. Post the photo, then go into HTML and find this code:

WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 267px;

and remove it. (The 400 will be constant but the other number might be different.)

Then a bit farther into the code change s400 to s800. That number is the size of the longer side, so it will enlarge the photo so the longer side is twice what it was.

When I went to the help forums to find out how to do this, I got two sets of instructions from two different people. The other was more complicated. KISMIF. Keep it simple, make it fun so I use this method.

Thanks for the info. . . I copied it and will try it one day. I just need to remember to do it on a new blog and to link my photos from image shack instead of blogger so it doesn't eat all my space. Ü I think I might call it My Favorite Things. . .
