Odd Shot zoomzoom?

This is where to go for Odd Shots. Just post your photo--odd in some way--and comment here that you have participated so others can find your post. Click the Odd Shot Camera on the sidebar to see the Odd Shot details. I add new players to the blogroll fairly regularly, but it may take a while to remove those no longer participating.

Is someone rushing by? Now you see him now--or do you see him? This sculpture that we saw in the outdoor sculpture exhibit at Maryhill Museum was designed to create an image of motion. I did not realize how well it succeeded till I looked at the picture above. A different angle and a closer shot show how it was done.

Sometimes you see a perfect Odd Shot on a blog that is not participating with us. I want to share one I saw yesterday--stop over at Victoria Daily Photo.

We are out and about. Internet connection tonight? Maybe, maybe not. The campground has it in season, but we are off season, so it may not be available. I will visit when I get a chance.

  1. In the first shot I thought th figure was made of glass - never thought of metal. Some artist - odd shot without a camera!

  8. What an amazing sculpture! I've never seen anything like it. Love the illusion. Thanks so much for sharing this one.

Mine's up too, though my mystery man is not nearly so sophisticated.

  13. I love Maryhill, Mrs. Snapper turned me on to it and we've been there a few times (it's near her family). I don't remember this sculpture though so maybe it's new.

My Oddshot is up now over at GDP.

    Cheers!

  14. What a neat sculpture -- that's one I could look at many times and always see something a little different!

  15. The 1st shot really is odd, Katney. I thought maybe it was a ghost or an odd shaped person walking really fast! Great job on this one. Mine is up now also.

  18. Thanks for the link. I'd love to participate in oddshots but since I've retired I find I have a violent reaction to anything smacking of regularity. I can't even handle the once a month CDP theme days!

I love this sculpture. Even in your photo it looks like it's moving.
