Changeable Skies

A chill breeze blew away some of the gray at Fr. Simcoe State Park the other day.

Did you ever wonder how they made tall flagpoles 150 years ago?
Now you've seen.

  2. Yes, those flagpoles of yesteryear seem to still linger in around here of the mountains... not many but a few.
    Great pictures!

  7. Gattina, it was a lovely day. We had our jackets and our hot soup in a thermos. Doesn't take a chill breeze to dissuade us.

We were a bit disappointed to drive quite a few miles to discover that the park had gone on winter openings just the week before. The gate was locked and so were the restrooms and interpretive center. We made do quite nicely by parking at the gate and wandering the grounds on foot.
