ABC Wednesday--Y

See Mrs. Nesbitt for ABC Wednesday details and participants.

Did you think I couldn't come up with a Y at the mountain? Well, I did and I didn't.

Yarrow does grow in meadows at Mt. Rainier, but it grows in many other places and instead of searching for a picture of it among my hundreds (maybe thousands) of pictures from the park, I took this one in my own Yard. It looks much like this in the meadows anyway, and there I always have to look closely to see if it is Yarrow or Sitka Valerian or one of a couple of other plants.

Checking the index of one of my Mt. Rainier books to see if there is something obvious that I have not thought of, I see Yew. I am not sure if I have a picture of Yew in my collection from the park, but I will not subject you to a picture of the yew in my Yard.

  4. Aw Katney why not? What's wrong with the yew in your yard? Unless it's a ewe... even then it would be cute. ;0)

I love how you manage to stay on your theme. Brilliant Y.I am now eagerly anticipating Z on Mount Rainer... :0)

  5. Yarrow is supposed to be plentiful here, but I find it hard to discover. We have so many other similar flowers, and I never seem to have time to stop and examine them. You're lucky to have something so pretty so close at hand. What about next week?

  10. Yarrow grows in my yard too. In fact, it makes my "grass' look green all summer. ;-) I think it's beautiful but wish it weren't so invasive.

  14. Ah yes "y"arrow...   Such a sturdy, attractive, and plentiful plant...   I passed some the other day and thought it would make a good Y, (but I used something else)... Great post, as usual.   Keep 'em coming.
